Was thinking about going to Hutchins in McKinney. Looked at the website to make sure they were open Sundays. Sliced brisket is $30/lb! Yikes! I think I'll pass. I like good BBQ but not that much. Guess I'll just smoke one myself. Prime brisket at Costco was $5/lb last week when I was there.

Ouch that is pricey, heck Pecan Lodge is only $24.00 lb. and 407BBQ $25.00 lb.

There's one person to blame. Thanks Joe! as much as I dislike Joe its not him.. Blame the packers who are screwing the ranchers and sale barns.. The big 4 packers just posted a 475 million dollar first quarter profit....Last I saw sale barns and ranchers are making about 100 to 200 a head profit and packers 800 to 1000 a head.....

Last time I went to Evie Mae's in Wolfforth they were $28/lb. The thing that kills me is sausage-it's cheap as hell to make, yet $16-20/lb? OUCH!

I will not eat at a BBQ joint. I make my own. Had some the other night from a brisket I smoked last month, sliced and cryovacked. Sous Vided @ 170 degrees and it was just like it came off smoker. But those texas twinkies are dang good!
We’ll eat there about 1-2 times per year. I like the atmosphere and like to support local. Plus, I get to gauge how well I’m cooking at home.

If you think those prices are bad, don’t go to Sessions in Royse City. Ate there last weekend with a client, we both had chopped brisket sandwiches, 1 side each, both got a drink, and an order or Texas Twinkie egg rolls. Total was just over $60.
I’ll probably never go back

If you think those prices are bad, don’t go to Sessions in Royse City. Ate there last weekend with a client, we both had chopped brisket sandwiches, 1 side each, both got a drink, and an order or Texas Twinkie egg rolls. Total was just over $60.
I’ll probably never go back $12 for each chop; $4 for each side; $2.29 for each drink: $36.58, those egg rolls aren't on the menu but boy they must be proud of them.

We never eat at bbq places. Smoke all my own briskets and porks butts. All the sides are to small and overpriced.
