Funny, I’ve never known southwest to have so many issues with weather. Must be that dam climate change....

Not just SW---though they have had the worst of it. Daughter and SIL were flying to Boston 6am Friday on American but were delayed multiple times until they finally gave up when they were told they would arrive around 8pm. Flight arrived around 3am Saturday. To top that off, the return flight they were on Monday was cancelled also.

They made the right choice, stayed in TX, and caught a couple of good football games over the weekend in person.

Driving is definitely safer.

I flew every week twice a week for 12 years. I'm glad I'm not doing that anymore. Good luck!

If I were you I might be shopping for a different airline/flight and trying to bug out as early as Wed night, even if you have to stay a night or two in a hotel.

staffing isn't the core problem for SW; they just migrated to a new "IT" platform and it's a real disaster. It has nothing to do with weather...I won't be flying with them again until they get their S together

got a hunt in Ohio coming up flying SW. We fly for free so it behooves us to use that airline.

We booked another flight on the Same Day with AA a few hours later, so that we know we will have a flight to get there. The cost of the additional tickets is worth the extra insurance so we don't risk the hunt.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Last week I had an AA flight delayed from 2:45PM. It was about 11PM before the stars aligned giving 1) a gate, 2) an airplane, and 3) a *complete crew* to include pilots. Sunday a family member was on a 1-hour delayed AA flight. But, that's pretty normal and not even noteworthy in my opinion. Friends that I booked SWA tickets for to come here this week had both of their flights cancelled on Sunday. Was having problems selecting new flights via the web site and app so I called in. Even with A-List [Preferred] status I sat on hold for three hours before I hung up. Eventually I was successful making changes online.

+1, I traveled for work for 18 years. We had 17 plants located across the country. Only 2 of them were drivable. I also worked for the Building Products division at one time. We had 5 truss plants and I spent months at a time at all 5. I did several 6 month stints at a plant in northern Alabama. Avis would motion me out of the back of the line and hotel left me fruit baskets. There were some perks other then airline miles. I got to visit old friends and relatives at some of the locations I went to. My boss' parents had a big house on Lake Wheeler in northern AL and we would spend weekends there.

A heterosexual male flight attendant? Don't think I've ever seen one of those before.

And as I've said on here many times before, SWA is the Greyhound of the skies. I'd ride a bike to Washington before I'd fly Southwest. But if they pilots are really standing up for their rights, I salute them.

Yea Im actually looking into that. At least as a back up if i can find one that'll give me a refund. This morning all the flights from home to Washington left on time... hard to say but I feel like I'm rolling the dice if I dont have a backup.
