Not sure if this is the correct forum for an air gun question, but I sure need some help. I bought a Diana RWS Model 350 Magnum .17 caliber air gun over a year ago. I put a scope on it and no matter what rings I used, the scope would slip back just a hair on every shot. Took me forever to figure out what was happening. Got so frustrated I put it up. Finally took it to the gun shop today and they had a couple options, which confused me, which is not hard to do. Apparently, they make a special mounting bracket or clamps for air guns????? All the clamps I tried out of my safe all slipped. I ordered the gun and scope with mounts originally from Air Gun Depot so you would think they would be compatible. The gun shop told me I needed a UTC compensation mount. The UPC code is 4712274529137. Does anyone know if I order this, is this all I need? Then my regular clamps will tighten and stay on this. It's supposed to be my boys yard squirrel shooting gun and I'd like to get it fixed. Thanks in advance!

I think scopes have to be specific for air guns. Might try lining the scope rings w/electrical tape to see if that works. Air gun recoil is hard on regular scopes. Google helps.

Try some rings with a scope stop pin. The rear ring has a threaded set screw in the base that you tighten down on the rail after mounting the ring base. Most high end springers have multiple shallow holes machined into the top of receiver towards the rear to accept the stop pin. Something like this, you can barely see the stop pin in the pics. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/sportsmatch-1-rings-medium-9-5-11-5mm-dovetail?a=7855

Ah! Okay, that helps a ton. Thanks! I also ordered the adapter to make it from the 11mm dovetail to the weaver clamps (if that's the correct terminology)..It's slowly making sense. I think I have it figured out. Thanks again.

PM sent. I am a pellet gun freak. Love me some German break barrel sweetness. You don’t need the UTG drooper and it’s so damn tall. But a good option nonetheless. You just need rings with a scope stop pin, and Loctite blue #242, or Vibratite VC3. I prefer Hawke rings, or BKL rings.
BKL rings will hold without a scope stop pin. Use a one piece set up on a magnum like the 350.

Looks like it's answered. I have a set of pretty inexpensive Hawke/Leaper/UTG can't remember which one 1" rings on my TX200, which is the only air rifle I have. The stop pin will help with a springer. I use BKLs on my rimfire, but I think that they are air-rifle ok as mentioned...without the stop pin.

I have a skinny little pair of single strap BKL’s holding the Leupold FXI 4x28 on my R9. It is a newer gun, not tuned. But it is a very light weight scope. For a magnum like the 350 I’d use a one piece BKL with droop compensation: https://www.pyramydair.com/product/...r-11mm-dovetail-6-base-screws-007?a=2895But I would stick with a light weight, robust scope. Like a 4x or a 2-7x scope.
