Flying to Washington this Friday for a 7 day hunt and I'm pretty nervous flying SW after this weekends issues. Somewhere around 30% of their flights heavily delayed or cancelled due to "weather". My last 4 flights with SW were all delayed or cancelled due to "weather" as well, so really nervous this will be more of the same. Anyone ever have a hunt significantly impacted by the airlines?

It's not "the weather". All airlines are losing employees right and left over vaccine mandates. My niece and her boyfriend are both flight attendants with AA, he is being terminated for non compliance along with many of their colleagues/including pilots. We were just talking about this.

That's the gospel. All are having issues being delayed or cancelled.
If you travel anywhere currently, it's going to be challenging.

It is not just SW. Allmthe airlines are under the gun but SW are the ones with the balls to push back.

Will being nervous about it help?

I have no plans to ever fly again. I hated it before 911....then really hated it afterwards. Last November I had to go to the UAE....five PCR tests in a month! Not gonna get vaxed! Done with flying unless it’s private.....

At one time I was traveling about 200 days a year. If the drive was 10 hours or less we would drive rather than deal with the airlines.....

Just arrived in Sacramento this afternoon on American. It was a nice flight and arrived on time. Lots of people were traveling. Didn’t see any major flight issues out of DFW.

Might have better luck hitchhiking.
