I don’t know about “famous” the way your inferring, but The Score Board (Rockwall) and Ramblin Rose (Rowlett) were some of my early haunts. They have a “reputation.”

I would be surprised if anyone has heard of this one. Been closed many years, and what type of bar it was. In Dallas.
Palms Danceland. Go.

I have lived here for 35 years and never been to Floore's Country Store, I am not even certain that it is a bar. But I have been across the street to the Helotes Country Club a time or two.

What have you got? In 1983 I was an extra in the film Tough Enough starring Dennis Quaid that was partially filmed at the White Elephant Saloon. Back then I did not think much of him as an actor but what the heck did I know?

Betty Lou's! Betty has the oldest beer license in Texas, going over 60 years and she's the only owner, she's 92 now. It's an oil field bar and she opens in the morning so the boy's coming off morning tower have a place to go drink before they eat and hit the rack. She'd hug you and cry for you or she'd crack your skull with that club of hers if you got out of line. Get too out of line and she'd shoot your arse. She swears she's never drank or smoked in her life. https://www.kxan.com/news/national-...record-for-longest-running-beer-license/I believe Jasb used to work for the PD here, I'm sure he knows the place, it kept the PD hopping back in the 70's and 80's. The old timers that go in there now help keep the younger bunch under control. That's there Momma Lou's place and they'll take your arse outside and set you straight quick.

The Esquire, downtown San Antonio. 'Longest bar in Texas. It was a dive bar when I was a kid and young adult, and plenty rough, but it's been regentrified.

Back then I did not think much of him as an actor but what the heck did I know? Small world Stub. I helped finance that movie. It had Dennis Quaid, Warren Oates and Wilfred Brimley in it also. Should have been a break out role for you and we could all say we knew you when.
