I want a small/compact scope to put on my Marlin .22, not for reaching out tapping a target, but picking squirrels out of trees etc. or any decent scopes for under a $100? Thanks.

Generic China scopes, I would avoid. Id buy a used Nikon for $100 bucks if that was the budget. Not going to get much for $35.
