My brother that has not hunted in 30 yrs got a doe wuth his new cross bow. 20 yards out, out of my pop up blind he put up on frinday night. He got her Saturday evening. Just wish I could have been there.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Nothing worth shooting.. saw movement early till 830 both mornings.. evenings were slow too. The deer in my area are still feeding during dark hours for the most part. I did see a fair amount of teal and dove finally but not enough to put the bow down. This is Baylor county

It was my first time back up into a tree in 16 years. My new set up with out a feeder worked great. I just throw out corn when I get there. I had 8-10 deer both evenings, but all young does / yearlings and 1.5 year old bucks. Saw pigs both nights, but about 10 yards out of range and they were traveling between feeders and never stopped. Had a great turkey hatch this year and had what sounded to be 40-50 fly up to roost less than 100 yards away. Had a N/W wind and only 1 deer winded me that came down wind. Had a great weekend.

It was a muddy mess on top when I got there Saturday. My neighbor to my north offered to drive me up in his Mule to get my Ranger. He let me park my truck at his hunters camp since they were not there. Only way I could get there till Sunday evening when it dried up to road in. Still soft on top in those rocks. Lot of hunters probably did not get to hunt in that area due to the rains.

Ya, it was still real wet at our place Sun. Which says a lot because it drains and dries quicker then any where I’ve been

No overall luck but got a lot closer to a big hog walking into the stand than I want to be without intent to shoot. Good and bad that it didn’t hear me coming....lol

Another example of how the best time to hunt any new stand site is the first chance you get to crawl into it.

Congratulations to your brother.

sat for a morning only hunt Saturday and had 14 in front of me at one time in Parker county.....3 borderline bucks..no shooters.... was not taking a doe so got to just watch. Can't believe that little bow lease is that stacked up with whitetails. They quickly ate every kernel of corn and left. Needless to say, I cranked the feed time up and added a second feed time in the morning as that's when I'll most likely be there....Sure was nice to just watch. I'll be back this weekend.

I saw several deer, and a bunch of turkeys, but mostly was waiting for hogs. Didn't see any while hunting, but late in the morning on Saturday I was getting ready to run to town and have lunch since it was pouring rain. As I was walking through house, looked out the window and had a sounder of hogs at about 125 yards across the pasture. Quickly grabbed rifle and loaded, then snuck through the shop, and circled around to the back where I would be hidden behind a large Oak tree. Shot a big sow that did a backflip, then others bolted to my right, stopped, and came back into the clearing where I tagged another. Already added them in the 2021 Hog Count thread.
