Good hunting to everyone. Stay calm, pick a spot and follow through. Looking forward to pics and stories.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Waiting for a little cooler weather to hunt, the stand behind the house let the Wife hunt it first and her next days off are next week.

Good luck to all that are going, stay safe and like Passthru said "Stay calm, pick a spot and follow through. Looking forward to pics and stories."

Not going to be able to get to my new place without rutting up the road into it. So I will wait till after lunch to decide if I will hunt the afternoon or next morning. 7"+ of rain since Tuesday evening has made it muddy.

If youve got mud like weve got then I hope everyone is respectful of the landowners roads.

Sitting in a double latter at our ranch in Leon County.
Taking my grandson on his first bow hunt.
Hot muggy and foggy.
Good luck everyone and stay safe.

Well the alarm goes off at 6:00 and there is lightning, thunder, and rain. I have air around and finally decided to go out and sit because I’m not going to see deer at the cabin. Park the truck and walk in and pop up blind is gone hair still there laying over the. Look and solar panel for feeder is hanging from the feeder.

I fix the solar panel and feeder had still been throwing corn so I do a walk around and pop up is no where to be found. Headed back to the cabin to look at the cameras and will wait until it stops raining to do a further search for the blind.

Biggest buck I’ve seen this morning. Have a thunderstorm going through right now. Glad I went to a water tight blind.

3 does and 3 bucks w/in 10 yards, was enjoying it so much I let them all walk. I did have a squirrel come nose to nose with me in my tree stand and I actually had to blow in her face to get her from stepping on my hat. Not sure who was more surprised.

I did that once. Found mine 30 feet up in a red oak tree. Came down next spring. The one I’m sitting in tonight has 8 oversized tent stakes holding it down.

Finally found it, it was 50 to 70 yards behind the feeder. Which means it had to go over the trees as it is a solid line with very small gaps. Of course it rolled through a cactus patch or two before coming to rest with a tree limb through the top.

Sitting in my rifle blind just watching nature no deer but had a mocking bird that had been eating prickly pears as it’s face was rose colored.

My grandson couldn’t get his bow drawn back on a big doe this evening. After she left he drew if back just fine.
My brother missed an 8 pt
At least we’re seeing a few.

New guy on my new lease hunted another property he owns in NW Tx and killed a clean 8 that should score over 150 it looks like. I need to ask him before I post pics. Beautiful big frame 8.
Another guy on my other lease in NW Tx killed a 10 that will push 150.
So far so good.

decided to hunt with my recurve yesterday morning, which is the only time i could hunt. 7:15 shooter 10 comes in, have him at 10 yards and as I draw he hears something, starts turning and spinning right as I release the arrow.

knocked another arrow and a doe came in and gave me a pretty clean shot, also at 10-11 yards and i made an ugly shot but it was effective. She was down under 100 yards.

Gonna go back and try and stick the 10 with my recurve sometime this week if time allows.

Congrats 85, nice first kill with Trad bow. Hopefully the 10pt or one bigger will give you another shot.
