looking to purchase some small acres 10-20 at most for a reasonable price just for hunting purposes .i know land prices have gone up but looking in west texas area or central plains . beats paying for lease pm if anyone knows a good place

If you find a place, check what is around it -------- likely a larger place was split into small tracts ------- hence a hunter every 10 or twenty acres would not be much shooting going on.

I would purchase as much land as you can afford, 10 acres can be tough. Hunted 40 acres once and all the neighbors were 10-20 acres that hunted. I saw one deer in 4 sits, also depending on where you’re looking in west Texas there may not be many deer to hunt on 10 acres to begin with. Best of luck, hope you find something you can enjoy for a long time.

I know a guy that had the perfect 8 acres. Not saying he had monster bucks but he always had deer.

Doesn't the Texas outdoor annual booklet say you can't hunt on land under 10 acres? There’s no state law I’m aware of, there are some counties that have restrictions I believe. There is a state law prohibiting a projectile leaving your property. Not sure how you could prevent that on less than 10 acres.

I believe acres for hunting is a county rule.
IIRC Medina County is 10+ acres.
You can safely hunt 10 acres but you must use elevation and terrain to be safe. Many gun ranges may be bigger properties, but the actual range area is less than ten acres.
