He runs a wide variety in order to be pretty self sufficient. (cows, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and more) One of the wells is solar powered, the gardens and trees have been productive for many years. He's only got 36 acres left of the old 320 acre family place - continuous ownership since 1850's. He's a bow hunter and gets his deer most years.

If recall correctly, you built really nice Barndo right down the road at one point?

Yes, but it was a couple of counties to the South in Goliad County.

Similar situation here. I grew up in a darkroom helping develop large format B&W prints from 8"x10" and 9" roll film negatives. Sometimes we seek our roots as we age.
