Just a reminder check your Oxygen Absorbers before you store food. I didn’t and they had gone bad now I have to cut all my Mylar bags open, put new absorbers in, and reseal again.

What are you putting in the Bags? I thought about doing that but I bought freezers and keep my grains, bread and pasta in one and all my veggies in another meats in the other two. I have generators and plenty of gas (I Think) so I'm good if the lights go out just as long as it's not for Months.

Those 3 buckets are full of rolled oats but I do this with rice, freeze dried potatoes, rice, beans, salt, pepper, sugar, pasta, wheat berries, and other things that’ll last 25+ years. Not all of them require the absorber. Also have a bunch of the #10 cans of different freeze dried foods to supplement the staples. With the amount of rice and beans I have stored my tiny family of 3 could last for a good long time off those two staples alone. But I want to eat good in the apocalypse haha.

Why don’t you just go hunt out west and buy new every dec-Jan-Feb.

Some of my freeze dried stuff is actually really good.
