I hate to start with price isn't an issue, but since I'm spending someone else's money.............PRICE IS NO ISSUE. roflmao

Helping a buddy put together a rifle for his 2022 Yukon Dall Sheep hunt.

Requirements:
1) LIGHT..........ounces matter to these guys
2) First Focal Plane
3) MIL reticle
4) Quality Glass for hunting

I thought I read a new release from March last year they were releasing a 1.5-15X42mm FFP scope this year at around 17.5oz, but it's not listed on their website nor can I find the previous article on it.

I have the 3-24X42mm March-F on my 28 Nosler. It comes in at 21.5oz, and I'm happy with it. However, he is looking at shots 600 yards and under. So, if we can save ounces by going down in power I'm all ears.

Suggestions?

Mk 5 3.6-18. Kinda a fatty at 26 oz but superior glass. I have the 5-25 and am impressed so far. Maybe the best glass in the FFP market. Which when hunting counts more than ounces to me.

Razor LHT is 19 oz. That is about as light as I've seen for the specs.

Your buddy may be able to get by with a SFP scope due to the type of hunting…spotting, setup, dial and shoot.
I’ve not seen a quality FFP scope weighing less than your March with the exception of a Schmidt and Bender Klassic 3-12.
Meets all your criteria with a P3 mil dot reticle if you can find one. I have one and enjoy it for what it is.

Bushnell LRHS 3-12x44

fantastic scope and I have ran a lot of high end glass over the years
They stopped making it but I would love to get another one..
They nailed it as far as I am concerned and I was surprised when my buddy and I sat in a blind until darkness with it and a Nghtforce 2.5-10x42 and the Bushnell was better into darkness. Bold reticle, easy to to setup zero stop, nothing to dislike.

It's on my lightweight 7 mag at the moment but have ran it on several other hunting rifles.
My buddy still has his and he did a lot of scope reviews for our site over the years.

On of my other rifles has a S&B and another one a Kahles 3-18i and I do not feel under glassed out hunting with the LHRS

It was designed my George with GAP rifles for hunting....

I didn't like the 3-18 nearly as much for some reason

That's my vote but it's SFP. 600 yards and under he is probably going to zoom to max any way so the reticle would be correct and not need mental adjustment.

But I know the hunter, and he is pretty much a spitting image of me so KISS method is probably best, so Barney’s on right thought track

I didn't look close enough. I thought that Razor LHT was FFP.

The 3-12x42 and 3-15x50 are SFP. The new 4.5-22 is FFP but 22oz.

At this point lightest will be March and New vortex LHT FFP. Both roughly 21 oz.

Knowing March is Japanese I wouldn't be shocked if they are both made in same plant
