My older sister lives by herself on a ranch in South Texas. She would like to put out a couple of motion cameras in light of the border situation. Looking for recommendations of some that are dependable and yet simple to use. Appreciate any recommendations. TIA

I use covert wireless cameras. Easy setup and their app/portal are really nice. Best customer service out there but they are on the pricey side.

I've been running 3 of the steath fusion cameras and really like them.
My cousin has set up a couple of the Reolink cameras at his house and loves them. I don't know anything about them but he said their are $5/month for unlimited and I will say the video clips he gets are very nice
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I like the covert code blacks. I tried the LORA system that puts multiple cams on one base unit/cellular account but couldn’t get it to work consistently. The switched them out at no charge to the code blacks no questions asked

Thank you, gentlemen, for your input. I checked, and the cellular signal at the gate is very very weak.
Sounds like that Guardline Long Range Alarm is worth looking into. However, the statement that "place sensors anywhere up to either 1/4 mile or 500 FT from the receiver," is confusing. And per Google Earth, the gate is about 500 yards from the house.
But if it works, and she wants pictures, we could always put up a plain ol'; game camera nearby for pics. Think I'll give them a call tomorrow.
Thanks again!

1500' is a long distance for a residential wifi network. It would have to be "Line of sight" and use YAGI type antennas. I assume you have electricity at the gate? Optionally, a Cellular camera probably be a better choice. I am very happy with the Reconyx I'm using. It is available for either At&t or Verizon networks. Call and talk to their technically support to find out what service is best for the area.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!
