A lot depends on the gap between spinner plate and funnel and then the size kernels of corn. My old AS feeders would not put out 1#/sec of spin time. 600# would last 8-12 weeks running 3-4 times per day with a total run time of about 16-20 seconds depending on the feeder.

If your normal routine is to fill or check feeders at random, then I would fill it up this week early. If it rains after you fill it then that will cover your scent.

I would fill it and add a couple of seconds or more to each feeding just to keep them around.

If your that far away I would sell the 300 lber and get 600+ so you don’t have to top off so often.

Or buy a second feeder and run one in the morning and one in the evening. Or a second one running at a lower rate. It's frustrating when you go to hunt and find your feeder was messed up by coons, stopped up, a timer or battery bit the dust, or it has run out. Using two feeders playing the odds I have never had both get screwed up at the same time.

Thanks for the tip guys. I’ve been trying to swap everything to the 600 stand and fills but having to set up equipment for 2 leases I haven’t been about to do it overnight. This place is actually the lease I figured I’d spend less time at but have the best deer I’ve had on cam so far hitting this spot daily. I went to both leases opener of dove season and of course the only feeder that for sure wouldn’t have corn but first of oct is the one he’s coming to. Def won’t let this situation occur. Will have a 600 pound to take up with me this weekend

Clearly you won’t be able to sleep from all the worry. Just go throw a few bags in quick and take the unknown out of the equation.

Find someone close by to fill it up, if it was anywhere around me I’d help a brother out. 9 hours of driving to fill a feeder would make me buy a much larger feeder ASAP.

You put in a lot of work to have it run empty right before the opener. I’d go and not look back. It won’t seem like much when you see that big one coming in opening weekend.

Right, so even if you go now and the buck sees you, it isn't like he is going to run away and never come back. The sooner you take care of it the more time there will be for things to calm down before deer season.

I bet if we all started swapping stories on outrages stuff we've done, and expenses we accrue to kill a deer or a bird, or catch a fish (which is basically what this forum does daily) driving 4.5 hours to fill a feeder sounds perfectly reasonable!!! Go fill it! Heck, I'd ride along for the heck of it just to see some new real estate.....well, depending on your road trip music.....

This you will spend more in gas refilling a 300 lb feeder than just buying a 600 lb Amen to this 600 or 1000 lb stand & fill for me from now on. I figure the corn on my lease is about the cheapest part of it so mine is feeding about 125 lbs a week right now. It will be closer to 175/week once the season starts and I'll feed at least 15-20 lbs each sit with my tailgate feeder. Feed em and they will come!
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I've often told them they could take 10-15 guided trips a year and come out much cheaper with a lot more trout, redfish, and drum fillets. I suspect my deer meat this year will be about $300/lb if not more.

Good luck. Don’t wanna look back on your age score thread but is it the WT 150ish?
