Just FYI, the used SxS market is HOT so if you are thinking of selling now is a good time.

Seller's market on a lot of stuff! Very few bargains on anything right now.

I have been looking since January this year. I was told end of October on ordering a Ranger or Mule....early December on a Can-Am. Lot of dealers I have spoken with said they know they have pending orders on stock models for their sales...but many do not know when they will get them. One dealer told me a truck would show up with some new units...did not know what they would be or when the next one would show up. Many have zero inventory or barely any inventory. One dealer was trying to sell me used units at above new MFG suggest retail 2022 unit prices. One even told me he traded for a Mule FXT without power steering...they would sell it to me for $17,400. That model is basic, now powering steering and only comes in black. MFG suggested retail price is $13,499 + $840 destination charge +$100 Freight surcharge+ any dealer prep. After 6 months of serious looking I found finally had a dealer call me...they had gotten in 2 basic Polaris Ranger Full Size 570 2022 models. No power steering, full size model and green color. I made a deal on one of those. Not what I wanted but I needed one for my new place and mule deer season out west this year. There are not many used ones in Texas for sale on the internet either. If there is one, it is listed high and will sell fast.

I was told the exact same thing stxrm. Order one today and they honestly wouldn't know if they'd have it next month or the 1st of the year.
The guy I talked to deals a ton of them and said they've got a BUNCH of them ordered in Mules, Can Ams, and Polaris and have no clue what is coming in week to week.

Same as the damn new and used vehicle market; I feel sorry for the potatoes who are willing to grossly overpay for either today and then look up 12-24 months from now and realize what a poor financial decision they made. Could also argue the same with the boat market or the house market or the land market or, the corn market well, you get it...

When the markets corrects itself, and people are realizing they’re in over their heads and prices come back to normal, I might seize the opportunity and buy a new used truck at a great price

What's the best way to price one? I have a 2012 diesel mule with low hrs. that I would like to sell. There aren't really any adjustments in the NADA guide for low hrs. or condition of the machine.

High. I just bought a new (2021) Ranger 1000 XP Premium after selling my ATV. The dealer I bought my Ranger from suggested I put it out there high.

I paid $7000 for my Honda foreman, 2016, got $5200 for it the first day I listed it and had a couple of back up offers for the same or more $. It was low hours and in good shape for its age. Had about $250.00 worth of racks and good Maxis tires. Selling a five year old ATV for $1800 less than I paid for it, and got great use out of tells me everything I heard about the market for used is true.

As for new the Ranger I bought, I got lucky. I found it and bought it in a day. A long term, great customer of this dealership referred me. Know that Polaris has a Hero's program. We got $1000.00 off, and 2x the factory warranty. I was going to pay cash, but they also have 0% interest on a different program. So I got $1000.00 off MSRP, there were no freight, prep or assembly charges. There was like $85.00 in title fees + sales tax. Getting a full two year factory warranty was the final piece of the deal that got me in a Ranger over waiting 6-8 weeks for a Mule.

I hope you have good luck with the Ranger. I really don’t have any favorites, I currently own 8 UTVs of various brands and have continuously had multiple units for the past 15 years. I have had way more problems out of rangers than any of the others. It’s not even close. It’s a shame really because just driving them around I like the Rangers the best. I like the way they ride so much I have bought three of them thinking I had a fluke and everyone of them has let me down.

The mule comes with a 3 year warranty.

My Ranger came with a 2 year warranty. I will say Ranger wasn't my first choice. But all things considered in the end it won out. This is my first S x S, I'll be obsessive about maintenance. I was about to pay more for a Mule. I couldn't find a dealer that wasn't adding 2k+ for freight, [censored]'y, etc......and would be waiting 6-8 weeks. I have hunting partners that are long term Ranger owners and know them inside and out and a great dealer close by. We'll see.

Having a good dealer close is an advantage.
