Doesn't look like we'll make it this year.

Saw Jack Pyland on TV this morning. I sold his Dad food at the Fair in 1981

My Dad was the entertainment director at The State Fair. I went everyday after school. Parades every night, Circus, The Commandants Own, Marine Drum And Bugle Corps and Silent Drill Team. Unbelievably great times growing up at the Fair

Oh yes Youngbloods, slice of white bread and sliced dill pickles.

I love the fair. Have gone every year since I was in grade school. Hell, I worked the fair a few times as a police officer, 28 straight days of 10+ hour days, but all the fair food I could eat. Lane is now old enough to understand and enjoy it, I can’t wait to take him this year.

Looking forward to going, just waiting for it too cool down some more. I usually go on a Wednesday or Thursday since it's not very crowded during the week.

Always have a great time there

I'm surprised it's not going to be another drive thru for a Big Tex picture with his mask on and some overpriced fast food with no fair.

One shot is all it should take.

Saw on the news last night that they are encouraging folks to come during the week to make the weekends not so crowded for covid reasons. So much so that they are offering discounted admission on weekdays as an incentive. Which is great because that’s always when we go.

I think I've been twice. Thought it was over priced and nothing special.

We would like to go, but don't know where to park or anything. We would like to be safe as possible.

Looks like he might have gotten too much sun.

Park inside the gates and you'll be fine. The parking is expensive, but you won't have to worry. Just don't park anywhere outside the gates like in the yards of the homes that border it. You will get ripped off, or worse.

When I was a kid, the Fair was a must. Me and my buddies would ride the bus down to Fair Park on school's Fair Day.
The Fair was so different then. Got my pocket picked one time, lost a $20 dollar bill, all I had for the day. My buds paid my way all day.

Used to love the Comet, the old wooden roller coaster. If you got one of the back cars, you could feel it come up off the tracks going over the big humps. Would scare the $&it out of ya.

I haven't been in several years but I'm going this year, for the Hell of it.

Park inside the gates, I think it's 20 bucks super safe.

If you get a flyer and go to all the free shows it's pretty cool. We never go to the midway or rides we enjoy all the free shows and attractions and all the different foods.

Bird Show has always been my favorite

What do you want to do there? I’ve worked it enough that I know where everything is and can guide you to the closest gates for less walking. Also, where will you be coming from? The traffic pattern around the fair changes to make ingress & egress more efficient.

I always liked the pig races, no idea why. This year they have the kids aquarium opened back up, it’s the oldest aquarium in Texas. Never cared about the midway, I have a feeling I’ll be playing stupid games so the kid can get a prize.
