 Need info on older Case knife

Came across a older case knife that seems to be a antique. It has wood handles with indenture for finger holding. The blade has a drawing of a buffalo and the word Buffalo printed into the blade. On the blade is Case XX P172. Is this just another old knife or is it an antique?

That's a Case Buffalo Knife. 1960's-1970's. They are a couple of hundred to three hundred bucks on eBay depending on condition.

Thanks ntxtrapper, I saw some but they did not have the indenture for fingers on the wood handle.

its legit...I always get a kick out of this "this was my grandpas knife, he died in 1949" the knife was actually made in the 70's

its legit...I always get a kick out of this "this was my grandpas knife, he died in 1949" the knife was actually made in the 70's Colt 45, don't get a kick out of this because nobody's grandpa died.

I have a couple of old kitchen/ boning knives with wood handles that I need to have somebody work on. They almost look like an old hickory but clearly stamped CASE XX.
If any of you knife guys are up to the task, pm me.
