When do you want to go? I’ve never hunted Nebraska.

Son in law has family that farm NE, trying to corrupt the guy and make him a bird hunter and go visit good ole uncle.
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Valentine area is interesting country. Take dog boots. Lots of spurs in disturbed areas. (Mostly close to roads.)

I’ve been out to the Sandhills the last couple years. I would recommend going in early to mid September. It’s warm but you have a couple hours at daybreak and just before dark to get some time in. It’s a very unique landscape and a remote area. I would look into Nebraska or Mckelvie National Forest. Both are about the same with Mckelvie having more permanent water sources. This is a good trip to camp and you can also get some dove or blue wing teal hunting in as well. ] That looks like great fun! My kinda trip. Thanks for posting.
And why, today, remember misses?
