After seeing Creekrunners "Château Débrix" restoration project, I felt compelled to replicate that with my own restoration project. grin..I thought...easy peasy. loco I inherited this "blind"...aka "pile of crap" and I decided to take on the restoration of the aptly named "Leaning Tower of Pisa"....POS Blind for short. It looks a little "rough" around the edges to say the least...the roof...the floor...the windows...the walls...Oh and no door or floor....but with a little paint, elbow grease, 12 2x4' 8 foot and 5 sheets of plywood I think I can salvage it. The roof is a little bent but think it can be beat back into shape. The walls are a bit worn, rotted in places and very dry but I think that 14 coats of primer and 11 coats of paint they can be salvaged. The floor...well it is dry dirt and rocks...literally rocks since there is no floor so a new one is order. The red wasp family, the family of rats and one copperhead that currently inhabit the Leaning Tower of Pisa aka POS Blind have been given an eviction notice as of yesterday...this is after 40 yrs of rent free living. The black widow spider colony will be flame in honor of skinnerback. The 6 pack of vi-anna sausages, 2 cans of potted meat,1 tin of sardines, 4 unopened cans of Texas Pride, the open 5th of Evan Williams, a John Anderson 8 track tape that has "1959" on it, along with the "leaning style" will all be kept to preserve the hysterical value. roflmao

I think you should ship lap the whole thing and paint it pure white...

That project is worthy of one of those HGN shows.

I assume it was a "hold my beer moment" at the lease. I am thinking they built it in the backyard while drinking a case of Texas Pride, after another case of Texas Pride they disassembled it and hauled it to the ranch. Then a Evan Williams kicked in, no instructions for reconstruction at the lease...so the walls were assembled backwards. All of this was followed up with 2 cases of Texas Pride for the Celebratory hunt opening weekend..."it will do".

Maybe it was in a piss poor effort to make it square?

I would check inside for a body before attempting a remodel

Definitely has a certain style to it. Not sure what they call this style; Shabby Chic, perhaps? Early Haitian? Lots of character, though, both inside and out.

You can straighten it up with the use of some cedar branches.
