The Core RXQ30V was released in 2017 as the least expensive thermal scope to hit the market and was a great quality at the time for what it was. The scope was finally discontinued by Pulsar in 2020 and while it was a great little scope with nice capabilities the market has moved passed it at this point. The Core had a fixed focus lens which negatively impacted the image quality but wasn't uncommon 4-6 years ago for entry level style optics.
The AGM Rattler TS25 $1,995 is a nearly identical body style and it was released early this year and has come to basically be the replacement for the Core. The Rattler has a focusable lens, much better image quality, internal video recording and comes with an American Defense QD mount, all for $100 more than the Core's price. The Rattler is a fantastic value and a much better and modern optic.
The Bering Optics Hogster R 25 $2,195 (the price was recently lowered) is also an excellent choice. It's a similar design, same magnification, a very very slightly better image quality than the Rattler and it has a 4 year warranty vs a 3 year warranty on the Rattler but the Hogster 25 doesn't include internal video recording and the QD mount is OEM but it works well.
Both scopes are a really good value and significantly better than the Core RXQ30V, which was an awesome scope but at 5 years old, the technology has just moved passed it at this point.
Feel free to ask more questions

Also, the pulsar core has a green screen only. If you are used to pvs14 and like them, you will probably be ok with the core.

The Core had a green tinted display screen from it's release in 2017 until January of 2019 when Pulsar stopped production to change the screen to a standard black and white display. They began production again in May of 2019 and from then on they all had black and white displays until it was discontinued in the fall of 2020. Jason

I like that it runs on the same external battery pack as my Pulsar spotter and I hate buying CR123 batteries. It's perfect for my needs because I'm only shooting at about 60-75 yards max.
