This Ammo is new to me, I’ve used the conventional Deer Season XP Ammo on hogs , it was violently explosive but erratic in anchoring pigs. It wouldn’t penetrate more than 12” and body angles and bone muscle structure had a lot of effect (somewhat adverse) on terminal performance - quick kills… So I found the all copper version last night and have a couple of boxes inbound for the 6.5 Creedmoor LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT TIP - and - THE HOLLOW POCKET BEHIND IT Will it be any different than any other “tipped” monolithic bullet ? I hope so !!! Who has used them and what are your thoughts on performance on pigs ? Yes yes i know the box has a picture of a deer on it - I ain’t scared ….

This is a video for the lead Extreme Point (XP) bullet, same concept as the copper bullet. This should be deadly stuff in all copper ! Now , I’m starting to study the cross sections of these lead tipped bullets by other makers. It’s interesting how some of the Barnes bullets differ on tip size and hollow pocket design within the same caliber. You really need the cross section story and internal bullet composition configuration to compare these bullets to each other …. Here is the Winchester Copper XP

I popped a 130lb boar with a 143 ELDX last year through both shoulders at 50 yards. Bullet was just under the skin on the far side, an absolute perfect mushroom. It dumped all it's energy in the pig and he went about 5 yards and sprayed blood everywhere as he expired.

Sort of quiet out there on others using this Ammo (Copper impact) on hogs…. Brian and I got on a pig last night , wasn’t a big pig and it was a close shot 65 yards , so nothing really to analyze that would seem to indicate that this bullet performs any better than standard cup and core . It passed through and this is how the hog was found - in other words I did t cut the hide open. Accuracy was horrible in my 20” semi - the green group is at 100 yards the red group is 143 gr eldx at 100 yards , I zeroed to the eldx and know that the Copper impact will hit higher ….

We expect at least 20 hogs shot and carefully dissected to discern effect!!
