Got a really nice, trimmed 8# pork butt on sale yesterday, so the girls said they would love pulled pork sandwiches for dinner tonight. Have a strong cold front moving in, but seems the grill is maintaining 225-240 degrees just fine. Gonna give it about 6 hours, then see what needs to be done. Wondering about just the seasoning, no smoke, and maybe BBQ sauce rubbed when I wrap it. Standing by for goodness!!!

The wife does love me after all. They ate dinner one night at Paula Deens restaurant in Branson. Since I couldn't be there, she brought me a treat, and it comes in a really nice drinking glass for my Bourbon. Have to try some tonight with the pork!!

I like lots of smoke on my pork butts that I make pulled pork out of. I did one yesterday on my stick burner instead of my Rec Tec because the pellet smoker doesn`t give it enough smoke flavor for me. Good luck. In for results.

Get you a smoke tube and it will give you approx. 5 hours Of smoke to help with flavor.

What brand pellets and what temp? I’ve switched to B&B pellets and run 240-250 instead of 225 for a better smoke. That’s just how my Yoder runs to my liking

I had full intentions of going all the way with the grill. Sauced it at 160, and continued on, but I hadn't checked the bottle and ran out of gas at 176. Pulled it, wrapped in paper, and finished for the next two hours in the oven at 225. Started at 0900 and finished at 1700, so full 8 hours. Came out fabulous with just a half bottle of SBR's!! Enough for 6 large sandwiches for dinner, plus 5 meals left over to freeze for the future.
