Since I’ve been laid up a while, I haven’t done any shooting. But, I dragged out the Ruger 77 with that 4-16 Vortex scope. Been a while since I’ve looked through it. I had some tiny little O shaped targets on white paper at 100 yards. The most recent shooting had been with the AR with the Athlon Midas scope and the 260 with the VX5 scope, and both are very clear and sharp. With the Vortex I was a bit shocked at how less clear those little O’s were. And I used to think it was Ok.

I still have and use my 4-16 vortex viper Gen 1. It has been ok for me other than what I am convinced was an assembly error not centering the reticle. That said my 20+ year old Leopold vxII has always been clearer and better at low light than the vortex. I bought it for a budget entry level turreted scope and it has done fine. Hunted with it all last year and it served me well.
