I need another new e-collar. My waterproof transmitter got water in it this weekend. It was splashed while wearing it around my neck. I have always used Sportdog. They seem to last about 2-4 years and then break. I am considering other brands because I am tired of buying a new one every 2-4 years or so.

I need waterproof, beeper, long range, vibrate, ability to turn on and off beeper at a distance. I would like the ability to add a dog/collar, but for now I only need one collar.

What do you recommend (model)? My breeder recommends Dogtra.

I still have one of the old ones, that I use as a back up collar.

Tritronics was the best. They sold to Garmin. Garmin is the goo under the trash bag in the bottom of the trashcan. I bought a new set and they didn't last ten months. The collars are no longer the tough 3/4 inch width nor are they as thick. The collar itself tears easily. Cheap POS. The antenna is about as brittle as a cracker. I called Garmin and spoke with Jackass. Jackass said it was my fault for using the collar in a manner not designed by Garmin. I gave $750 dollars worth of collars and a transmitter away for parts. So I ordered Dogtra off of Amazon. Couldn't be happier. Just spent the last 7 weeks in a dog training grind and never missed a lick with Dogtra. Garmin can eat a bag of hot dogs.

That is a great review and I trust your opinion.

I bought a dogtra rt edge back in 2017. It’s been used a minim 2-3 times a week since. It’s worked perfect every time. The rt edge is just the basic model, and is a little hotter than most the other brands out there.

I’m happy with my Garmin 550 plus setup. I’ve always had good luck with Tritronics/garmin.

I’ve had this dogtra for three years….no issues.

I prefer the garmin pro 550 over the dogtra edge RT. I found corrections in water were not consistent nor were they always felt with the dogtra.

I used to think it was Garmin or Dogtra but Garmin's quality has gone down and there have been some concern over Dongtra's consistency in water.

I have seen a lot of the pros going to the Sport Dog now.

When I first got into training dogs sport dog was kinda the lower tier below Garmin and Dogtra.

But if I get a new collar now I'd get the SD 2525
