Pulled pork has to be one of my favorite meats on the smoker. The pork seems to really pick up all the flavors very easily vs beef.

Late last night the wife said she wanted pulled pork, and I just happened to have one in the fridge. Fired up the Yoder and prepped the butt. Coated with applewood seasoning for some sweetness, KC BBQ rub just because, and finally coarse ground pepper. Used B&B Pecan pellets at 240 for 6 hours then wrapped in paper until it hit 206. Wrapped in a towel and let it rest 5 hours.

It will be served on a Sweet Hawaiian bun with grilled pineapple, coleslaw, and spicy hot wing aioli.

These dang pellet poppers sure make a good product while I get my booty sleep.

pork + pecan makes magic, every time!
a little too hot for me - I smoke @ 225 for 3-4 hours, then in oven at 200 a few hours.

I saw no difference in the meat, except at 240 is where those pellets produce a much more pronounced smoke flavor.

I grew up on pulled pork. Never heard of brisket until I moved to Texas.

Funny. Its called a butt when it is actually a shoulder. Ever heard on a shoulder blade?
