Why not. Can’t take it with you

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

That's true scalebuster. The problem is some of the things we want to do (I'm 77) are no longer within our ability to do. smirk Fortunately, buying another gun is not on the "can't do that anymore" list.

Yes! Two days before my dad passed, he was looking to buy a Winchester Super Grade on Gunbroker. I hope to be just like him and be a rifle looney ‘til the end!

Absolutely! I'm 81 and just got back from the Kerrville Gun Show with a new firearm (which I REALLY NEEDED!) and will be at the Abilene Gun Show and a couple of weeks, searching for another one that I really need. "Don't Let the Old Man In!"

Only if he's gonna donate it to a 71 year old. I know one.

Yes, unless he wants more than one. In that case he should buy "more rifles".

Eye is on a Ruger #1, .243. Previously had a .22-250 and 200th yr. .45-70. I obviously should have kept them.

My grandpa bought a new pickup at 85.....so yes get another new gun. Part of what keeps older people going is by doing things like this....."dont let the old man in"
