Been busy helping a friend/neighbor out on his ranch and have not had the time to take many pics like I would want to. Was able to get in 3 evening shoots the last 10 day now. The days hotter than it was in early summer and they are getting shorter. Bucks are coming out of velvet daily now and the rains are speeding things up. Saw some really beat up brush clumps yesterday on my place from bucks rubbing the velvet off. Saw a buck late yesterday evening that was blood red on his antlers but to late to get any pics of him.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

They gotta Lutheran church too...full of square-heads and square-headettes. Might even be some young(ish) widows. A certain newcomer would fit right in. bolt

I had the bigger one at 3 or 4 last year, so he would be 4 or 5 this year....more 5 looking now. Here are pics from last year in late Sept at about a mile or less from where I took the pics this year. The younger buck on the right I believe was a 6x5 1.5 yr old last year...same shape and tine length, just bigger this year. I have to find pics of him to make sure it is the same buck. The deer on this place are fed free choice protein year round and have fall food plots in good years..so they are in great shape. That makes them difficult to age until the rut kicks in.
