Hey all, not a videgrapher, but would like tips on shooting some hummers at our feeder, tired of stills, got a older nikon digi
but looking to video this little gems.... just unreal what. we are seeing last 3 days. I bet over hundred have shown up at our deck
outside of Brenham TX, im told these are just passing by, 3 feeders filled at 6am, all empty by 5pm this afternoon.....

Maybe a go pro or any hints? yes in 4 or 5 weeks they will all be gone to SA, or headed south.....

Anyone else enjoying this little friends around?

be safe all.....

They are just starting to show up at my place near Tyler. Last year, the swarm was around 30 hummingbirds. It's just about impossible to count them, they never stay in one place. My wife makes their juice every day and we have a dozen feeders. More feeders, spread out around the yard seems to be the secret for keeping them around longer.

I enjoy sitting on the porch, pointing my camera to a spot that they keep going to and waiting for that perfect shot. I might take 20 or 30 bad pics before I get one that I like. It's relaxing to me and a fun way to enjoy a beer at the end of the day.

I've got a Bluetooth for my camera so I set it up on a tripod and wait. One of the problems i have is them landing on the camera, I can look out the kitchen window and take pic's.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Tis the humming bird migration time, and they are showing up in greater numbers all the time, the birds you see today may not be the same birds as tomorrow. Little birds have a long trip and need to tank up often.

Good luck with the vids and pictures. HWY that sounds like a cool setup for photographing them.

This little guy flew into the car on a trip up to N. Colorado and Wyoming earlier this year. Opened the door and he was gone....
