Just won a e-postcard hunt for Keechi Creek. Looking for any info on that WMA and about the hunt if you have any. Looks to be by compartment and the permit is for a 10 day period.

My son drew there last year. Super cool little place and the staff was awesome. They will put you on a map and tell you everything you need to know. If allowed, bring a atv as some of the compartments are way back in the bottoms.

It’s a cool place. I drew there several years ago and was the only one that showed up - had the entire place to myself. It was super wet, so there was no hope getting around with a standard 4x4, so I trekked around mostly on foot. I passed on two shot opportunities because I was really far from the truck and didn’t want to deal with the aftermath by myself lol.

Forgot to mention that mosquitos and ticks were hell! Highly recommend permethrin on your clothing and maybe bug spray on top of that.

Any updates on this place? I’ve been there twice years ago when my son drew hunts there. I’m thinking of showing up as a stand by for the last archery hunt December the 3rd, since I don’t live but about 45 minutes away.

I'm on the archery hunt at Keechi Creek right now. A lot of hogs. You having any luck? I hunted almost the whole week. They reduced the limit to one deer so I let about everything pass waiting for "muy grande" that never came around. I saw a lot of deer, just nothing that I wanted to kill. I did stick one hog that ran off into a marsh and I couldn't recover him. There was one guy there that killed a fairly decent 8 and his wife killed a doe. Overall, It is a fun hunt. Just not a lot of big racks running around.
