My friends and I have been discussing for awhile and we are finally ready to start getting serious about finding a deer lease where we can all get together throughout the year. We are all serious hunters in the age range from 25-35 looking to get something longer term that we can make improvements on, build up and improve hunting quality as well as land improvements if the landowner allows. I know this is a long shot but I have heard or been in too many situations where things start getting good on a property and then the price is raised extremely high or a buddy deal happens behind the scenes and you’re stuck looking for another lease.

We are looking outside the Fort Worth area, preferably an hour or two west or north of town. Some of the counties we are interested in are Montague, Jack, Shackelford, Young, Coleman and Erath.

Number of hunters will be in the 6-10 range so looking for acreage to account for a group of that size. Ideally 1000+ acres but could look into something around the 600 acre range if the group is closer to 6 hunters.

I am willing to discuss with anyone about acreage amount, accommodations, pricing, etc as long as it is something we could look at doing longer term and possibly renewing the lease every few years.

Thanks & happy hunting!

I suggest posting the area you are looking for, approximate number of hunters, price range, etc. That can help narrow it down to those who may have something available that meets your needs

I like to give advice(for what it’s worth) to those looking for a lease but I’m in a rush now so I will just make one comment. It’s really helpful if you list some type of budget. Even the crummy leases have gotten expensive and the good ones are very expensive. Your post was pretty well written compared to many. Leasehunter.com can be a good source. Good luck.
