Never been dove hunting before but going tomorrow. I have a Rem 1100 20 gauge with Mod fixed choke, or a Beretta AL-2 12 gauge with an Imp Cyl fixed choke. Both 26" barrels, both fit me well and shoot reliably. Which would you take?

For dove i usually use a modified choke shotgun.

Take the one you shoot best. Or whichever one for which you have ammo. Dove hunting is low stress, so go have fun. Oh, take a hat, sunscreen and use bug spray liberally if there’s a chance of chiggers.

Take both. If they are flying close, use the IC.

I always do better with a more open choke, i'd go with cylinder in 12 gauge.
I have 2 O/U 's that I use for dove, a 12 and a 20, both are choked Skeet / IC
Also, I get best results with heavy loads in #8 shot, 1-1/8 oz. for 12 and 1 oz. for 20.
The more pellets the better....for me.... blush

Went with the 12. Had 8 shot, 1 oz shells. Got exactly one shot on a bird and missed. I know I was high. Buddy next to me hit it. Only bird that got within range all morning...
