As a kid, we lived in Texarkana for a time, and Applebee's was Sunday lunch after church type meal. Now...can't say I've been on my own accord in decades.

It has probably been 10 + years since the wife and I have eaten there and there is a reason it has been 10+ years.

Same as chili’s....both are disgusting.....

We have so many better choices. New boomer jacks just went in.

I’ll eat at Applebee’s (or Chili’s) if that’s my only option.

Couple of years ago, the wife and I ate at an Applebee’s and had a terrific salad and steak. We were amazed. Some months later we went back to order the same thing. We were told that neither the steak or salad dressing were available now, due to “corporate”. Haven’t been back.

The one in Sherman would sell us beer in high school- I think that was the last time I went. The food just wasn’t good.

In Gainesville, Chili's has a MUCH higher reputation. The Applebee's is in an economically failing part of town and is more known as a bar for Texas residents that work at the casino. If you like flies and poor food, it's the choice here.

They do have a Big National Advertising campaign started.

I like their riblets or whatever they call them. Beer is always cold and the $1.00 marg's aren't too shabby.

But I fit right in any WT restaurant.

Worst service of any well known chain restaurant I have been to. I actually left a dime tip at the Bryan one several years ago . I like Chilis, except they keep changing their menu and removing foods I like. That said being old and decrepit I dont eat inside restaurants any more and have take out spots I use. :Neither are on my list.

Hard pass for me.

Chili’s and Applebee’s are both horrible.

I ate at one in Copperas Cove before a football game last Friday. It looked like the only place to eat where someone wouldn't try to stab me.

It wasn't as awful as I expected. Maybe that's the trick to the place, go in with really low expectations and they'll beat them.

I would probably eat anywhere else if I had the option, but I wouldn't pass one up if I was starving and it was the only thing available.
