My son totaled his 2010 GMC 1500 (Bent Frame). The engine only has 100k on it. I am looking for another GM or Chev 1500 with a blown engine. My question is do any of you guys know where I might look for one?
Thanks, Rube

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Check some of the local garages, some may have one with a bad motor the owner didn't want to repair. Pic and pull in Belton comes to mind.

He slipped off the road doing around 35MPH and smacked a concrete culvert with the right front tire.

There's a shortage of vehicles right now, so it's gonna be tough to find anything. Good luck!

Try roberts auto sales in Dallas. Lots of wrecked stuff there but sometimes blown motor or other small fixes. Didn’t see much on the website currently though.

Seriously, https://row52.com/ has a pretty comprehensive list of parts vehicles. Here are some 2010 GMC Sierras Row52 Search

Is it fixable?
If the frame is straighten able I would consider having it straightened and then doing the remove/replace headlights/a arms etc. yourself put new body panels on and either paint yourself or take it somewhere to be painted.

While I would agree 100k isn't what it used to be, it's still alot of miles to invest in doing a frame swap to save a drivetrain. I think Flip has a good idea, but consider the opposite... There are many vehicles on Copart because they have tons of body damage, but the drivetrain/frame is likely in fine shape. Look for something totaled due to body damage and compare drivetrain age/wear. You'll find many more wrecked in some fashion vs one with a blown engine. Study it and ask questions, know the fees before you buy. Go look at a few. Good luck, Charlie
