Picked for GH November 2021 archery deer. Never hunted this area but am used to TPWD DIY hunts. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the draw. Never deer hunted at the Howe, so no help here.

I've hunted GH twice, but always with a rifle. The WMA is split in two by highway. To the west is the river with typical river foliage but few deer. The east is all sand hills with sagebrush and several plum thickets. The deer feed on the ag fields to the north on the west side and come into the WMA to bed. If it was me I'd select either of the compartments on the west side to the north. Find where the deer cross the fence and look for some place to get them coming across. During the day the bed in the plumb thickets. Good luck, it's a cool place. Give me a call if you have any questions. Brian 817.368.3337
