So far I'm just seeing a couple resident fawns hanging around. My place is by Enchanted Rock. Just wondering if others have noticed the same or not?

I live in a rural area with homes on 1 to 3 acres, but we have fawns everywhere. I walk about 2 miles most mornings and its nothing to see 10 to 15 fawns.

About average where I am.

There are 8 fawns in my front yard right now. My ranch is covered up with them.

Haven't seen many on my ranch. Lots of coyotes, I believe that's an issue I'm going to have to deal with.

I live in E TEX and where we are, I would say a very poor fawn crop. 40% of the does no fawns, a few with twins, and the other with singles.

I think why most are seeing is less fawns in many area is due to great rainfall that has very tall vegetation. My new place had rain in May, June and into early July that caused grass and weeds to get very tall. I would see does that showed they had had a fawn(s) but they were not traveling with the does yet. In the last 10 days now I am seeing a lot of fawns that are old enough that are traveling and feeding with the does...these are the same does I was seeing 4-8 weeks go that showed they had a fawn, just not at its side. In June-July I was seeing a lot of fawns in the barditches....in mid July till early August I was seeing a lot of fawns dead on the highways...hit by vehicles. I still see a lot of fawns with does now from Gillespie to Mason to McCulloch counties during my travels. A lot of fawns. There are pockets in every county in my area that had above average rainfall this year and others areas that are normal rainfall. I would guess most areas around the state are the same. By late Sept to early October will tell what the fawn crop is. What you may also be seeing is a side effect of past years. If you had a big fawn crop last year then there will be a lot of "does" that do not have fawns but they may only be 1 yr old right now. Look like a doe, act like a doe but to young to have any fawns. Also if you are in an area with a bad buck to doe ratio then your rut may be staggered out and you will have does that will fawn over a couple of month period. Many areas of the Hill Country will see this.

I'd say it's about normal at our place.

Seeing above average number of twins here in Menard County. We have had above average precipitation this year and I am expecting above average antler growth as well.

I've been on our Mills county place every weekend for the last two months. I'm seeing a high number of does without fawns. I know our ratio has gotten a lot better over the years; I would have expected a lot of these girls to breed. These are not yearling does, either. Hunting season may tell a different story but IMO we have quite a few dry does. I have seen quite a few twins with the does that are trailing fawns, though. Our total number of fawns is still high. I suspect mother nature knows what she's doing. Either that, or the coyotes worked overtime early on the fawns and are about to hammer our livestock now that they can't catch deer.

I seem to have a good number of young does, last years fawns and more dry does than I would have thought. There is 1-2 does that are still obviously pregnant as of last week.

Bumper crop in King County. We have plenty of tall grass for them to hide in as well.

Fawn crop looking good everywhere Im at. Of course, the cover is so good, Im having as hard a time as the coyotes seeing them. Hopefully they will make it a year.

Bumper crop in my area. The habitat is in good shape and the animals are fat right now. A little off topic but I’m starting to see a few bucks that have shed their velvet in the last week.
