None of those look that young to me. I figured you were talking newborns.

We have had an excellent fawn crop in Callahan County. Saw this group of 2 does, 1 spike and 6 fawns yesterday. I couldn’t get them all in one photo but here are some pictures.

There always seems to be one brand new fawn with wobbly knees every year during archery opening. Late fawns are normal for us.

IMO that fawn I posted is less than a month old. For reference, that specific camera is only about 20" above the ground

In areas with bad buck to doe ratios you will see late fawns in very wet years like this. Bucks just can't breed all the does in the first rut...it may take a second and even third rut in areas with really bad buck to doe ratios. By the same token if you are in an area that has a very early rut, then your doe fawns will get big/old enough to breed in Jan-Feb. A doe fawn that bred in early Jan would just now be having fawns in mid to late summer. Highly possible with early ruts and very wet years like this. Late fawns in Sept-Nov happen due to doe fawns breeding. In South Texas many areas with the later ruts most fawns are not born until July to August. I managed a ranch in Kendall County that I found newborn fawns on the ground in late April every year....that meant the rut was in early October. There was not a lot of fawns born in late April but enough for me to see them....most were born in mid May time frame with a few into mid June. Those doe fawns on that ranch were large/old enough to breed later in the hunting season that year. I would see very small and spotted fawns in late October into November on that ranch.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Our fawns seemed to be pretty late due to the freeze we had this year. But I'm not 100% sure that would affect gestation period.
