I don't cook much. I cooked at the Denton Country Club in college. I cooked at my crappy apartment on the 3rd date with my now wife; we call it "the seduction meal". I haven't cooked much since and she's still a bit peeved about that, 29 years later, but I digress. She also hates custard. Some on here hate Luby's and that's okay. Luby's dropped their custard many years ago and it's not in their published recipe book. Eating that custard is a very fond memory from my childhood.

Anybody got a good recipe? Thanks in advance. up

Try this Creekrunner. Found it on an internet search

From the writing it looks to be a good substitute.

While that custard looks great...I like the link at the bottom the page much better. Gonna have to try that one.

That just means you cook them in a pan filled with water.

Basically just like the creme brûlée we like to eat, but with nutmeg instead of the flamed sugar crust. I love pudding and custard!!

No help on the recipe. I miss the old Luby's, enjoyed their Liver & Onions with a little cream gravy and their cabbage with bacon bits was to die for!

The one by me was still doing liver and onions, well until you know they all closed.

They're still open down here.

A lot in Houston have closed, the one near me may still be open but not sure since I don't pay attention when driving by it.
