Dove Season is right around the corner!

My pops went up to our lease in Archer County this past weekend and said he saw literally 1 Dove.

We are usually seeing really good numbers about this time (though the last couple years a majority moved off by Sept 1).

With being just 3 weeks out from Opener, do yall think we need to start looking elsewhere for a Dove hunt?

I'm headed up this weekend to check on some things, hoping to see that some more have moved in, will keep yall posted!

Definitely saw an increase in birds compared to my dads report 2 weekends ago.

Descent groups of 5-10 staged up off our wheat fields and kicked some good groups up off the roads late morning and early afternoon.

Didnt see a whole lot flying, but I also scratched the hell out of my eye clearing mesquites within the first hour of being there. Opthamologist appt this morning

Hoping this front will push some more down.

Cheers!

I was on a dove lease in Archer County last year. About this time last year, there were lots of doves. But once September came, it was an absolute bust.
