Going to brag on my baby girl just a little.

Our daughter Victoria Claire Landry (now Oliphint) graduated Magna Cum Laude and ½ semester early from Chapman University in Orange City, CA back in May. The school postponed the graduation ceremonies until the last week of July and first week of August, Victoria’s ceremony was Aug 7th 11:00 am.
BTW she also graduated high school almost a full year early (November 8th ) with honors and has never missed a day of school in her life, we are talking K- college!
(Side note, her Eagle Scout older brother Wyatt has never missed a day of school either).

Two weeks after graduating from college she gets married on June 12th to a great young man (Grant) who she has known since Kindergarten. Grant also graduated from Chapman U with honors and his ceremony was the very next day Sunday Aug. 8th at 8:00 pm.

About the wedding, it was a beautiful event and the reception was a wonderful thing, great food, plenty of liquor and a lot of wonderful people enjoying the celebration.
For their honeymoon they stayed at Tiny’s Hurricane Hole on Long Island in the Bahamas and loved it!

Back to the graduation, we got a huge bonus when our son Wyatt who is in the Navy and was stationed in Sasebo, Japan for the last 3 ½ years got transferred to the Navy base in San Diego two weeks before the graduation ceremonies and was able to spend the weekend with all of us.
Before that we have not seen Wyatt in 2 ½ years, he was not able to attend his sisters wedding so him being there was extra special.

Wedding pictures first.

We rented them this cool 1940 or 1941 Model A for the kids to go from the church to the reception, they loved it.

In front of the venue where the reception that is named "Venue Forty50" it was a great place located in Addison off of Beltline Rd. I think it used to be a Mexican restaurant that closed down a while back. Prior to the reception Grant, Victoria, Deb (wife) and I sampled several different types of foods to choose from, the kids decided on street tacos and chicken fingers for the meal and it was very good.

Highly recommend the place.

Deb & I supplied the beer, wine and tequila, they supplied the margarita mix (served on the rocks only) they had a bar setup at both ends.

Dinner at the Cliffs restaurant. Limited menu and the food was good, better place just to meet and have drinks

Appreciate the kind words, they are great kiddos.

Jan 24, 2018 - 3 1/2 years ago we flew out there for parent/student orientation and I was stunned at how scantily clad a lot of those girls were dressed, I mean short shorts crawling way up in the... and in one case a gorgeous student with a see through blouse with no bra on and her mom is with her eeks333
Did not see any of that this time darn it, I mean thank goodness grin

We were there from Friday around noon until Monday morning, we went out quite a bit to eat or run errands, beach etc. and what surprised me most was being in the state of the fruits and nutzs I expected to see a lot of weirdos, not so it was no different than being right here in the DFW area so maybe there is hope for those folks after all?

My favorite place to eat was the Orange Cafe. I had the Southern style eggs Benedict, it was a biscuit with a slice of breakfast sausage, poached egg and covered in gravy, the Home fries were fricking way good up

Breakfast Sammy's I had the Chorizo & Eggs, it hit the spot.

My meal at The Cliffs was the Fish (Cod) & Shrimp Combo was okay for $22.00, I could have upgraded from Cod to Halibut for an extra $6.00 scratch Nope!
If there is a next time there I would not order that again, instead maybe the Seared Ahi Tuna for $29.00 or Halibut Laguna for $33.00. I was being a cheap bastage and a pig thinking I would get more bang for my buck and my meal would still be kick azz right ? Next time up

Yep for her college and the wedding that's all it cost roflmao $500.00 a month for the next 35 years bang

Fortunately my wonderful daughter got a partial academic scholarship, graduated a semester early which helped ease the overall cost. Everything is paid for except one very small student loan that will be paid PDQ, then we can recharge the disposable $ and I can get back to hunting again soon up

For their Honey moon the kids went to Long Island, Bahamas and stayed at this kick azz little place called Tiny's Hurricane Hole.

https://www.tinysbahamas.com/images/

It has two cottages and a restaurant/bar, owner has a separate home somewhere on the property. These cottages were very nice, a little over 400' and very affordable.
Also included were water toys, like Kayaks, paddle boats etc. The owner took a liking to them and took them out several times on his boat to different islands so they could see the sights, heck he even let Grant wake board.

There are two cottages there, they stayed in the Key Lime one. View looking at the cottages and from the porch to the ocean.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

They boated over to a couple of different islands to swim with a Mantatee giving it drinks of fresh water which they really enjoy, then went to another island to play with the water porkers.
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

Drove up the island to jump off the cliff & swim in Deans Blue Hole.

I bet you know that Dean's Blue Hole is located in the Bahamas in a bay west of Clarence Town on Long Island and is the world's second deepest, after the Dragon Hole in the South China Sea, with a depth of 202 metres (663 ft).[1])
[Linked Image]

This pup was out there often running up and down the beach.

[Linked Image]

Grant hitting the beach
[Linked Image]

On the eastern side of the island the water is much deeper and that is where the bigger pleasure & fishing boats dock.
When they clean the fish and chunk the remains in the ocean the sharks are always waiting.

[Linked Image]

Saving the best for last, my baby girl having a drink at Tinys. Thanks for looking!
