Went down last week and just could not believe the growth in some of the pens. Hornswaggled SIL #3 (he was all over it) and went down again late Thursday evening. Get this. The last time we put in protein was the last week of June and we only put in 40 bags then, a little less than half of total capacity and none of the feeders were topped off. Not much in each, but every one of the five protein feeders save for the one where the dadburn cows got in consumed all protein and cottonseed prior to breaking down one side of the pen. Had another pen set up a long time ago where it looks like a hog got in and then bent crap up on his way out. Stretched the barb wire tight there.
They might not be hitting the pellets, but the cottonseed is taking a beating.
it might not have been "easy, but the Shindawa did good.
This one wasn't near as bad (ie: tall). We just want to be able to get in and not be as concerned about hidden buzzy tails.
