Pretty much quit the last of my bad habits after my sawbones told me my liver was getting weak. So finding out a liver cost 250k in Costa Rica I just decided to self medicate and heal. I have gone to almost all plant based diet and get my protein from nuts and seeds. I feel great and all my blood work etc after 4 months is like a newborn.

Liver and kidneys are looking great according to my doc and just says keep it up. I will still get my drink on once a week or 2 weeks but man I feel good.

My skin cleared from those dry patches and no more ear wax etc once I quit dairy. Whites of my eyes are actually pearl white. Hair and nails grow so fast.

Probably not for everyone but its for me at this point in my life...............oh and my pulse went to 60ish over 50 ish with no exercise.

I will eat a slab of tuna or salmon every week.

Good luck and good health to you sir. Everybody is different, and everybody's body is different. I have been known to enjoy a portobello or two in my time. None of us will live forever, so live every day to the best it can be!!!

We didn't survive and thrive for the last few hundred thousand years grazing, we're meat eaters!

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Good luck, that change would hit me hard. I'd do it if my liver demanded it too though.

What kind of foods do you typically eat in a day?

I just eat about 80 percent in vegetables and fruits and fish or meat as a side dish once a day........I eat no dairy.

And like I said..........I still have my day where I like to load up and party.........just not every day like I use to.

It has definitely made me feel tons better. I call it a VELIO diet

I did the same type of change in 2015 to eliminate dietary cholesterol. I’m thankful for amazing stuff that’s available today in plant based form. My doc called it the Dr. Ornish lifestyle diet. I dislike big pharma trying to sell us a pill for everything so I chose this route over statins and it has worked for me. I have raised my HDL to LDL ratio while dropping my overall total to just above the 199 number that is considered the norm,.

Granted, as was stated above, we required meat to survive as a species due to some essential proteins required in our diet. But modern technology and food science is able to pack those proteins from plant sources so that you get what you need without requiring meat.

That being said, I too eat salmon periodically and the occasional shrimp cocktail. Shrimp are high in cholesterol but somehow they raise your HDL levels over LDL so you have a healthy ratio.

Also, if you go back in time before commercial meat processing, our meat sources were much healthier and we got less of it. Easy to imagine we predominantly ate vegetables and meat when we were able to obtain it via hunting or raising it on a farm for our own consumption.

Everyone is different though and it’s not a one size fits all. Glad you are feeling better Fadetoblack. Keep it up.

Yep.......the length of our intestines (very long) show that we ate a majority of plant life.
