My Mom used to make them once a week for us; I always thought they were just OK. Used to eat them when I was in the Navy, 'cause they were the cheapest meat you could buy. The wife won't eat any seafood and the kids HATED them, so haven't made them for 40 years. I haven't missed them, so will probably stick with my shrimp burgers!!!

We got them from HEB every once in awhile. I am not sure what they use for a binder if they do. They form them with the burger press, so maybe no binder is needed.

For some weird reason I always like the crunchy pieces of bone that's in them.

Those look great. We used to make them after college when we had almost no money. We had a home made Jalapeño tartar sauce too. Went good with keystone light. I’ll have to try these!

We had a tomato based sauce. . . . . Let's see,

A puddle in the middle of the plate, salmon
patties on one side, fried taters on the other.

Haven't made any for a long time.
Not near as economical anymore
Canned salmon and mackerel used
to be dirt cheap. They would almost
give you a few cans of tuna

The red salmon makes the best patties but it's 8 bucks a can now. After you make patties up roll them in Louisiana fish fry or cornmeal then fry them up and home fries are a must have too. May have to cook up a batch this week.
