https://vortexoptics.com/razor-hd-lht-45-22x50-ffp.htmlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DseS8h6dsc&t=6sA FFP version of the Razor HD LHT, with a new reticle ( https://vortexoptics.com/media/.renditions/VTX_RZR-42201_XLR-2_MOA_RS_I_RI_ST.jpg ) Mag Range: 4.5-22x Obj: 50mm Tube: 30mm Weight: 21.7oz!!! Illuminated: Partial cross, not the whole tree Parallax: 25m to inf PRICE: $1499(map) Watched the review, the reviewer is a well known member of snipers hide and knows optics very well. At one point he even states for a mountain rifle he will take the FFP LHT over the March 3-24 because the LHT has better depth of field and less finicky parallax adjustment (which is why my March went down the road) Good: -smashes into the growing niche of lightweight, FFP, hunting optics which most manufacturers have left alone, competition will increase and bring more good options -REV Stop locking turret, this is slick and tactile-- if you look back to my review of the SFP LHT vs VX5HD I gave the win to the LHT on turrets against the CDS-ZL2 -Glass- every bit as good as the leupold HD glass from their SFP lines, the LHT line is Japanese manufacture Less Good;) - smaller FOV and a basic eyepiece (no fast focus) - push button illum (must cycle through) Mine should arrive this week I hope and then to the range next week! I know Vortex is as touchy a subject on here as a Tikka but I think this is really worth a shot for the rifles I want to put one on. My 2x AMGs have been mechanically/optically awesome and when I owned Viper HD binos there were no issues either.

Although I haven’t had it out to play yet the Leupold Mk5HD checks all the boxes. Excellent glass, FFP, lite weight. It even has crisp turrets compared to their VX-5&6. Supposedly a better system for dialing accuracy as well but I can not attest to that yet.

I'll probably try one at some point...I like the mag range and in my personal opinion there is a big difference in feel/balance/carry of an almost 2lb scope and a 20 ouncer. I like that Vortex is going the correct direction and trying to fill a gap in the market. Low 20 ounces to sub 20 ounces is a pretty good sweet spot that not many are in right now. For me, the crosshair thickness at the low magnifications will be my biggest concern...my eyes suck and I just can't see them like I want/need too.
If the glass is anything like the LHT, it will be a big hit with the guys that want a FFP hunting scope that doesn't weigh 2lbs. My 2 cents.
Don't let your ears hear what your eyes didn't see, and don't let your mouth say what your heart doesn't feel

I've had the LRHS (moa version) as well as the March 3-24 and the NX8 4-32--- currently have Razo AMG 6-24, Mk5 3.6-18 and various vx5/6HD. Will provide some head to head shortly as my LHT 4.5-22 arrived today on the door step.
DOF and parallax is supposed to be better than the March, and while I'm sure the glass won't be as good I like the locking turret and illumination for that price range. My LRHS was great but wasnt what I wanted on my lightweight mountain gun and I'll take the finer/illuminated reticle.
I took a Mk5 off the rifle that this LHT was going on-- weig.ht savings of 4.3 oz plus much better mounting options (had to get custom made 35mm Hawkins hybrids).

Link shows the msrp at 2k. So theres not a ton of difference. Especially considering were talking about a hunting scope, that's arguably one of if not the most important place to make sure you get quality.

I just paid $850 March is a fine scope. Barneywho has one on his 28 that I've used. I wish March was in $1500 range. It's hard to beat in from a weight stand point in the ffp options, but it's got its price point
