My once in a lifetime Walleye with yours truly in the pic for scale. I posted a pic earlier of the photo the taxi sent me but thought this one shows the true size better with me in the pic for scale. For reference the fish is about 4 inches in front of my chest. Photo bomb credits to my granddaughter.
Taken this past winter 8 miles out on the ice of Lake Nipissing in the dying hours of the hard water season. Was an epic day that included a single day personal record for number of fish through the ice in one day (21), ice quakes, snowmobiles and some open water crossing (aka puddle jumping or skipping) thrown in for fun (but necessary to make it off the ice).
If any of you guys are ever in Ontario in winter for business and have a few days to kill shoot me a pm and we can maybe get on some eyes. I can outfit up to 4 people (including me) by snowmobile with a heated hut and don't worry about having to cross open water with the snowmobile as this is rare but when in doubt throttle out - i.e. put it to the stops. Also just to be clear - no remuneration is required - just a good bottle of Maker's.
