The mass of piglets from the large sounder came in right at sunset.. I had been out earlier in the day to swap cards, fill feeder, etc. Landowner cut a path to my hiding spot due the grass so high. I waited on the adults and they were on high alert when they came out, and is wasn't the wind. It looked like the lead sow somehow saw me and was bouncing above the grass looking my way. I didnt wait much longer and hoped for a double, but no. All scattered and no follow up shot. 30 min later as I was typing this up one of the black orphans showed up. Somehow that resulted in a very rare miss - not sure what happened. Another 168 gr. AMAX on this one Not sure of what I was aiming for here. It was a mass of shoats and I was eyeing the sow on alert. That and the miss tells me i need to hit the range LOL.
The tall grass this year can be a problem. Any dead hog is good!
What he said. The landowner at the place I mostly hunt has a small tractor (an old Ford 600) that has quit running and needs some loving care. I've taken the carb apart but no joy. That thing really needs to be made to run because I desperately need to cut some shooting lanes.
