Yes they were on a ranch next door to the WMA and the escaped. Sure they are on a lot of ranches in that immediate area. They have been there for a while now.

Given that they can dig their own burrows, it would make sense that they could dig under fences with little trouble.

My first trip to Zimbabwe, we walked by a burrow a little too close. Momma warthog came boiling out. Everyone ran in different directions and my buddy fell flat on his butt. She kept on running straight and away. The whole crew started laughing hysterically. roflmao Thanks for jogging that memory! grin

I know the guy who originally stocked em on his ranch. There should be consequences for introducing such an invasive species especially when they invade your neighbors properties. The dayum things are being seen all the way to Catarina....

They are completely different species and even different genuses. I have found only one unverified report of a guy in Africa intentionally crossbreeding warthogs and domestic hogs successfully and that was in the late 1800s (IIRC) and the guy was not able to reproduce the result, nor could other researchers. So, no, there is no reason to believe in there being a warthog/feral hybrid

I wonder if the Wuhan Lab in China can get to work on this. What could go wrong?

Do they let you shoot 'em on the Chap? I didn't see anything in the draw hunts about exotics only deer, javelina, coyotes and feral hogs. I suppose the staff could consider them a type of feral hog but since technically...

Yes, you are encouraged to shoot them if you see them.

Yep....they beg you to shoot em. Last thing TPW wants to deal with is another invasive species.
