Any big gators??
that place looks a little 'gatory'.

And, did you manage to find any more tequila???

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Yes I am! It really was a work weekend at the free hog hunting lease with only the one day for exploring. I worked on a bridge and filled ruts for the landowner. My first time to use a tractor, so it was actually fun for me at least this time.

It's a brand spanking new NWR and not far from the hog farm so I have been wanting to check it out. In fact I left a kayak at the farm just for checking out more new places when I am out that way hunting. Unfortunately being new, the only access is a main road into about 1/3 of it and no river access without a 1 to 4 mile walk. Thanks to recent rains I was able to kayak a mile or two into the refuge via a creek and length of a couple small lakes without having to portage. I am hoping they eventually will open up some river access roads. It does look gatory, but saw none. Caught one nice catfish. Still no Tequila unfortunately, so the rest of life is still crap.

Mosquitos where brutal. I walked up to a sign at a gate and a dang red wasp shot out from behind it and got me too.

Now I need to check out the other places near there, Sabine River, Murvaul, Striker, and Martin.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill
