Work has dealt me a busy hand. I need to sight in my thermal and I have a great indoor range that doesn’t allow hand warmers. So what can I use ?

Frozen pancakes or waffles would probably work like a charm.

Take a piece of tinfoil or metal HVAC tape and cut it about 1.5"x1.5". Take a cigarette lighter and heat it up and thumbtack it on the target as your bullseye. If you use tinfoil make it about 3-5 layers thick and it will hold the heat for a very long time. If they won't let you do that, take a surgical glove, cut a finger out and put a large ice cube in it and thumbtack that to the target. It just needs to be hot or cold, either of those ideas are simple and should work great. Some people ask "ya but what happens when I hit the thumbtack or the ice cube/tin foil and blow it off the target?" Drop the mag, empty the chamber and call it a day. You're well within 1 MOH, "minute of hog".

I use a quarter and hit with a doper pocket torch for a minute or so. It glows for 20 minutes.

I'd suggest the foil method. Fold up to a small square and staple to your target. I think it will show up even at ambient temps.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

I use a 25mm Polyimide Heating disk wired to a 9v battery. Its a little wonky as you cant shoot the disk or wire so your aim point is not the bullseye. I use like the 3rd hash on the heater which is about 3.5'" to the side of bullseye

I used tinfoil
Depending on the distance, you’ll need a bigger piece
For example I was outside and it was prob in mid 80’s and I couldn’t pick up a 2”x2” at 50 yards
6”x6” worked

I was going to add I have this .pdf target that has a 1" solid dot center. I print with a HP Laserjet printer. When set up in full sun the center gets hot and is very visible.
