Watch a lot of animals (particularly one doe who not only survived a bad shoulder injury from a truck, but also birthed a healthy fawn) of all types in my area, enjoy some solitude and quiet. Spend some special time with my son of 43 years and 12 year old grandson as they try to get a shot off. Maybe take a nice buck myself as a bonus.

Take my kids hunting for their first times and hopefully have plenty to show them. Everything else is gravy, including old man WT who showed back up on camera

It's hunting season 24/7 here. I get just as much enjoyment out of trapping coyotes and shooting hogs as I do deer hunting. I just want be in the woods as much as possible, if I get a wallhanger awesome if not no worries. No need in over thinking a hobby.

Just popped the eyes out of a boar with the .204 this morning before work. Life is good.

We're concentrating on the spouse's shiras moose this fall, opens Sept 15 with a rifle.

We have elk tags, general elk and cow tags.
Mule deer for both of us
Whitetail for the spouse
Pronghorn buck and doe tags
Hopefully some grouse hunting if we get to the mountains for some archery elk hunting.

We'll b trapping after the hunting season and hope to catch some nice bobcats again this winter.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

how is the grouse hunting? Seems like it would be fun to try

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Get my wife a dove limit. Maybe a deer. Me, I may not even pull the trigger this year.

Hunt more than last year and have more fun doing it. Don't have to kill any more deer but enjoy hunting them with friends if I don't have to sit in a blind looking at a feeder.
Adios,
Gary

I just got back from Colorado with the wife and youngest son...our 30th and his 24th BD was spent in the mountains and we got a look at an OTC area for elk should we have to go that route in years to come. As far as this coming season

1- Get 2 elk down and 2 mule deer down in Montana, me and the 24 year old both drew tags this year.
2- kill WT deer when we get back from Montana. Killing elk, mule deer and WT deer in same season with a bow is about as good as it could get.
3- Kill a few dove when we get back
4 -kill some BW teal if we can make time
5- Get ready for 2 months of SERIOUS duck hunting Dec/Jan...its my passion

We usually find them while archery elk hunting. One of the best tasting birds out there.
Might luck into some ruffed grouse on the moose hunt in Western Wyo.
Dusky or blue grouse are found all over the state. Fun birds to bow hunt, a .22 works well also.

This first and foremost.

Also, to take another deer with my favorite Tri-Ball Buckshot.

Same as always. Fully enjoy myself and fill the freezer. Try to get the late season archery Hunt in OK with Ish (one of my OK buddies) and my Brother in-law. We've done it in years past and the three of us have always had a ball. It'd be nice to get my PB and my son as well, but that's not necessary.

Hoping the wife can make it out this year after missing the last 2. Not the same without her. Is that a goal? I'll do my part in making that happen.

Just to enjoy and spend time with good friends. Hopefully have an opportunity at a big buck, and kill lots of coyotes.

Even getting to go, I am staring down the barrel of a potential knee replacement (won't know until the 11th). So between being laid up and physical therapy I just hope I don't miss the whole dang thing!

Get my girlfriend on her biggest deer to date, a nice framed 8 last year that should be something special this year and for me to let the air out of something with my new 257 weatherby. Would also like to see my dad take a nice deer but he gets as much enjoyment out of watching deer than shooting deer now days.

Get my kiddos a trophy buck - we are loaded with good bucks this year and Dad is ready to hand over the reigns. 6-9-10-10 in ages and all ready to pull the trigger on a big mature deer.

Put a doe or two in the freezer. See what shows up. Maybe put a friend on a deer.
