To me there are red flags:
The web site says:
Since the ammo retailer’s start in 2004...
2004? Just now, 17 years later, getting on the e-commerce band wagon? Because thomweaponstore [.] com was registered 2021-01-16T02:04:01.00Z and was registered for only one year which is far from normal since businesses very typically plan on being in business for more than one year, so they register for longer periods.
The above quoted sentence goes on to say ..."Ammo To Go has always been focused"... Who are we talking about? Now it's a different name.
Then:
Thanks to the support of the hunting and shooting community, we’ve steadily grown over the years, evolving from a two-car garage into a busy ammunition warehouse.
The picture kmon1 posted doesn't look like a large warehouse. Ok, maybe they forgot to put the correct address on their newly built site. Or maybe they just moved in to the warehouse since the site was built and the site hasn't been updated.
We are not allowed to sell or ship restricted items to anyone in a restricted zone.
Can I get a map of the "zones", please? I don't know which zone I live in.
RETURN POLICY:
Thomweaponstore does NOT accept returns on ammunition, firearms, or lower receivers due to safety considerations and US DOT regulations.
The DOT regulates returns now? Strange.
The Bulk Ammo product page has yet *another* name in the title - "Bulk Ammo Archives - Kingler - weapon store". Where does Kingler come from? Still on the Bulk Ammo page there is a bubble popup thingy at the bottom left that indicates that somebody bought a particular product. It's blatantly fake.
There are more red flags such as geographic designations, the site design, and the age verifier. Ask for details if you care. No mention of covid causing delays? Maybe an exaggerated generalization but I think everybody cites covid at this time.
However, the site hasn't shown up on
https://re.reddit.com/r/gundeals/wiki/blacklisted_websites. That doesn't necessarily mean they're legit.
I'd pass them right by.
